Guides, buying advice, and saber lore
In current canon, Plo Koon’s lightsaber is a blue-bladed clan saber: a hilt shared with several prequel-era Jedi, distinguished by a radiator-style emitter set with flat blue rings. In Legends it was also yellow and orange, and the reason for…
A lightsaber light whip is a flexible, metre-plus emissive strand that runs from a standard hilt instead of a rigid tube blade. The hilt and electronics are ordinary; what changes is everything above the emitter, because a light whip has…
A katana lightsaber is a saber whose katana influence lives entirely in the hilt: an extended two-handed grip, a tsuba-style hand guard, and a windowed emitter. The blade above it is still the standard round tube, so what you are…
A technical reference to the lightsaber coupler: what it carries mechanically, thread standards and male-versus-female versions, clocking the two hilts' switches, sound when the pommels face each other, fixed versus quick-release joints, and thread care.
A technical reference to the lightsaber blade plug: the three jobs it does, when a saber needs one, light-capturing versus self-lit plugs, socket diameter and depth, vented versus solid, and why a plug never matches a blade's output.
A technical reference to the lightsaber chassis: what it holds, the print materials and their glass-transition limits, fit and retention, laying out the core, killing rattle, and how chassis fail.
No — not in canon, and not in physics. The films themselves establish at least 4 materials and devices that resist a blade, and the real-world numbers behind an actual plasma blade put it 3 orders of magnitude beyond anything…
Choreography is not fighting slowly. It is a counted sequence in which both people know every move in advance, and the skill is making it read as a fight to someone who does not. That distinction decides everything else on…
Almost every modern lightsaber runs on a single 18650 lithium-ion cell, and almost every “my saber is broken” report traces back to that cell rather than to the saber. The two numbers that decide whether it works are continuous discharge…
Most saber mounts fail for one of three reasons: the anchor was rated for a static load and the mount gets yanked, the adhesive was chosen for a wall it can’t grip, or the hilt was hung by its thinnest…
