Guides, buying advice, and saber lore
Nothing in canon assigns a blade color to a personality. Only two colors carry a stated meaning at all — red and white — and both describe an act done to a crystal, not a trait of the person holding…
White is the rarest blade color in canon and the only one produced by undoing something. Every other color records a bond or an act of force — white records a repair, and canon names exactly one person who has…
Blue is the color with the most wielders and the least official meaning. Of the entire blade spectrum, only red and white have ever been given a stated meaning — and blue carries the most-asked question in the whole color…
A lightsaber hilt is not one part — it is a stack of separately designed components, and almost every handling characteristic a buyer notices comes down to how four of them are shaped: the emitter, the choke point, the body,…

Baylan Skoll carried an orange-red lightsaber with a hilt longer than almost any other in Star Wars. He built it as a Jedi student under the droid Huyang and kept it through Order 66. He still carried it decades later…
The Inquisitor lightsaber is a double-bladed weapon with a ring-shaped emitter that spins the blades in a circle while the hilt stays still — built for the Inquisitorius, the Empire’s order of dark side Jedi hunters, and issued to every…
Darth Nihilus wielded a single-bladed red lightsaber — the only weapon the Lord of Hunger ever carried, held by a Sith who had already torn his own spirit out of his body and bound it into a mask and a…
Orange is the rare lightsaber color whose meaning comes almost entirely from Legends rather than canon — canon assigns it no defined significance at all — while on the hardware side it is one of the few colors that has…
